Two separate reports in the Broadford area with 11 at Breakish and 8 at Suardal. This species is scarce in winter in the south of the island. There is every possibility that these birds were blown in by the gales of the 7th. After the January gales Lapwings arrived in Norway and it is thought that they may have originated in the Uists! |
